In March 2005 I travelled to Penang, Malaysia, with Beautiful Holidays for a breast implant replacement and a breast lift. The procedure was done under local anaesthetic with sedation with an overnight stay in hospital. I spent one week at the fabulous E&O and one week at the Grand Plaza Park Royal.

I decided to choose Beautiful Holidays.com after seeing a Sky One programme called Sun, Sea and Silicone. Having already had one breast augmentation six years ago with a surgery in Harley Street, and not being happy with it, I had reservations about going to another surgery in the UK. My first BA had been done over the muscle, using 300cc implants. The surgeon whom I had learnt to trust recommended this procedure to me. Unfortunately, being of small build, and not having much breast tissue left, the weight of the implants over the six years caused my breasts to sag, and were no longer the round and full breasts I had wanted.

After thoroughly reading through the website, I decided to fill in the application form to see, out of interest, the difference in price from the UK. After a couple of days I received a very comprehensive proposal from Wim. It provided me with all the information regarding what was included in the price. From then onwards I mailed Wim many times with various questions I had about the clinic, the surgeon, the procedure etc etc, which were all addressed and answered very quickly. I felt that I had established a great relationship with Wim over e-mails and I felt able to ask him absolutely anything. My greatest surprise what was how the prices were so competitive.

I decided to go ahead and book, and both myself and partner flew out to Malaysia for two weeks. We were met at the airport my Marloes and taken to the E&O. On the way she gave us an abundance of very useful information about Penang, the surgery and most importantly the shopping. She also had for us an information pack which included the pick up times for my consultation two days later. The hotel was amazing; we were both so impressed at the service and friendliness of all the staff. I had a full day before surgery to relax by the pool and take in the feel and atmosphere of Penang.

On the morning of surgery I had my consultation with Dr Danny. We discussed at length what procedure would suit me and I reviewed photos of pervious patients. He answered all my questions and I felt happy to proceed with surgery. I was impressed with the cleanliness and friendliness of Dr Danny and his staff. After surgery I was taken to the hospital to recover. During my stay Wim popped into see me and brought me flowers, which was lovely. It was nice to have my partner there with me in the hospital; it's comforting to have a familiar face there when you are miles away from home.

After being discharged I was taken to see Dr Danny for a further three check-ups, which were all fine. To my surprise I was up and out for dinner the day after surgery. By two days after surgery I was by the pool, soaking up the sun and working on my tan. Whist in Penang I also decided to visit the dentist to have my teeth whitened. Once again I was picked up and taken to my appointment by Marloes, nothing was too much trouble for her. The results were great. I had pearly white teeth, new boobs and a great tan, what more could I want.

The second week in Penang we moved to the Park Royal, which was also very nice. It was right on the beach, lovely swimming pools with more of a beach holiday feel. Here I was able to relax by the pool and take it easy. There are numerous restaurants to eat at and if you enjoy shopping then the night market is a must. On a couple of occasions we met up with Marloes for dinner. We met some of her friends and her partner who also made us feel so welcome. At all times we felt in safe hands and everyone made us feel at home. We didn't want to come home…!!

My whole experience from start to finish was amazing and one I will never forget. I cannot recommend Beautiful Holidays enough. It was first class. I am so happy with my decision to have my second breast augmentation with them, and I am over the moon with the results. >From the first day I arrived, the organisation was excellent and I never felt like they didn't know what they were doing. I would recommend BH to anyone who wishes to have surgery, and also enjoy a wonderful holiday on a beautiful island. If anyone is thinking of going to Penang for surgery and would like any questions answered, Beautiful Holidays have my e-mail address, I would be more than happy to help.

I plan to have laser eye surgery some time in the future and I will definitely consider using Beautiful Holidays again.

In July this year I went out to Penang, Malaysia through ‘Beautiful Holidays.’  I was going for rhinoplasty – a nose job under GA with a 1-night hospital stay in a private single room.  For over two glorious weeks I stayed at the Paradise Sandy Bay Hotel.

In Having a nose job was something that I’d thought about for a number of years; ever since I’d been at secondary school.  But 15 years on I had resigned to the fact that unless I came into some serious money there was no way I was going to be able to have one.  Through my research on the Internet I found that one of the leading cosmetic surgery groups in the UK would charge me a minimum of £4,500 – there was no way that I could afford that on my humble wage.  Then earlier this year I was flicking channels on TV one night when I came across a programme on Sky One called ‘Sun, Sea and Silicone’ which followed the fortunes of four English girls who travelled to Penang, Malaysia through ‘Beautiful Holidays’ to have ‘boob-jobs’.  I watched the concluding part of the programme the following week; it all looked too good to be true but I thought that if it was on Sky TV with a well known presenter it had to be real.  I decided to investigate further and began to surf the Internet for more information.

I made an enquiry about rhinoplasty with ‘Beautiful Holidays’ and received a prompt reply from Wim.  The offer was unbelievable; how could there be such a huge difference in price for the same surgery that I had enquired about in the UK?  I was suspicious and spent a while conducting my own research about the company but could find nothing but praise and good reports.  I also researched the Hotels that Wim had recommended in Penang and thought that the Paradise Sandy Bay would be ideal.  I decided that I was going to go for it and emailed Wim with my decision.  From here I just needed to confirm my flights; Wim was happy to advise me with this too; and then my hotel and surgery could be confirmed.  I knew that I had just taken the first real step towards achieving one of my dreams.

I maintained regular email contact with Wim; he was always happy to answer any of my queries and also gave me advice as the date of departure approached.  This was reassuring because I had so many questions that I wanted to ask about the surgery, the Doctor, the hotel and Penang itself.  I was able to obtain all the information I wanted before I even left the UK.

Wim and Tony met me at the airport and then took me to my hotel and didn’t leave until I was checked in and escorted safely to my room.  There I also received a comprehensive information pack from ‘Beautiful Holidays’ which included details about my initial consultation and date of surgery, transport arrangements and contact details.  There was also a wealth of information about the island and a map which I found invaluable when I began my exploration of Penang.  I felt totally at ease because ‘Beautiful Holidays’ were going to take care of everything for me.

I had my surgery three days after I had arrived in Penang.  I was taken to a private hospital where I met Doctor Lee who was to be my surgeon and his highly professional nurses.   Doctor Lee listened to everything that I said and answered all of my questions about the surgery.  I was taken to my private room where I was able to relax before my surgery; I was very comfortable and felt confident with the whole situation.  After surgery I felt very little pain; I expected to hurt quite a lot but I just felt like I’d got a blocked nose like when you have a cold; I was obviously relieved because I was expecting it to be much, much worse.  Throughout my stay the nurses in the hospital were extremely attentive to my every need – they were wonderful!  I was taken back to my hotel at lunchtime the next day after receiving all the medication that I might possibly need before my next appointment.  I received two further appointments with Doctor Lee after my surgery where again he answered any questions that I had.  I would rate the service I received from the hospital as first class and I’m absolutely thrilled with the results.

The Paradise Sandy Bay was a fantastic hotel to stay in and I would certainly recommend it to anyone planning to go to Penang.  The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout the duration of my stay.  I had a really relaxing time; it was an ideal location to recover from my surgery.   The food in the restaurant was also excellent too; room service was very prompt and really cheap as well.  The café across the road also serves good food and drink cheaply too.  I was also able to keep in contact with my friends and family in the UK because both the hotel and the café had Internet access that was very inexpensive.

Whilst in Penang I managed to see a number of sights including Georgetown by day and by night, Komtar, the Botanical Gardens, the Butterfly Farm, Gurney Plaza, the night market and various temples and places of worship.  It really is a wonderful island and there’s so much to see and do if that’s you’re thing.  Alternatively you can relax on the wonderful beaches basking in the glorious sunshine – it’s heaven!

My experience can only be described as excellent; I’m so glad that I made the decision to go for my cosmetic surgery with ‘Beautiful Holidays’ in Penang.  Although I travelled alone I always knew that Wim or Tony were only a phone call away should I ever need them and I felt comfortable with this knowledge.  Every part of my experience had been organised before I even travelled so all I needed to do was to sit back and enjoy it; which I certainly did!!  It has been a life changing experience for me and I have Doctor Lee and ‘Beautiful Holidays’ to thank for that.  If I ever decide to have any further cosmetic surgery in the future I will certainly go through ‘Beautiful Holidays’ because they really do make your dreams come true!

In May this year I went out to Penang, Malaysia through Beautiful Holidays. I was going for a full tummy tuck under LA with a 2-night hospital stay in a single room. For 2 weeks I was in the E&O Hotel.

Before my trip, having not known anyone to have cosmetic surgery this way, there were things I was anxious about and I had many questions to put to the surgeon. Before leaving home I also had many questions to put to beautiful holidays about the surgeon, his qualifications, the hospital etc etc, all of which were addressed and answered quickly - of which I was impressed with. I had done a lot of research on tummy tucks and decided, after deep consideration, to go ahead with having mine done in Malaysia. The surgeon also called me in the UK before my departure to have a brief discussion about what I was hoping to achieve from the surgery but a full consultation of 1 hour took place once I was in Penang.

Beautiful Holidays organised everything for me once we had agreed a date for me to go, and Wim was there to greet me upon my flight arriving, ensuring I was settled into my hotel and leaving me with all information that I would possibly need initially for my stay.

They left me comprehensive instructions of details of local information, consultation, pick up times to be taken to the hospital etc etc and were with me every step of the way ensuring I was always picked up, taken to the hospital and then returned back to my hotel of which they were always prompt and efficient and always on hand to address any concerns that I had after the surgery. As there was a small liposuction included with the tummy tuck I decided to have a last great meal and not watch calories. In the bag I got there was a booklet with some restaurant tips, it talked about an Indian restaurant a short stroll from the hotel. When you go to Penang, go to it, the best Tandoori chicken I ever had!

Back to the surgery part. After meeting the surgeon and discussing with him at length the required procedure, viewing photos of previous clients who had gone through tummy tucks and putting to him the questions I needed answering, I was more than happy to go ahead with the surgery. Before my face to face I had made a list of questions for the surgeon, I advise this, as it helps a lot. I was impressed with the cleanliness and friendliness of all the staff, and during my 2-night stay was also visited by the customer services team to ensure I was happy with everything at the hospital - nothing was too much trouble for the nursing staff looking after me once I had the surgery and were prompt in giving their attention. During my stay in the hospital Wim came to see me and even brought flowers and muffins, it was good to see a familiar face. If you were to take a partner or friend they could also be accommodated in your hospital room.

After discharge from the hospital, I went to see the surgeon a further 3 times for check ups, with someone from Beautiful Holidays always taking me to the hospital and ensuring my return to the hotel. When I got back to my hotel room I just had a good rest. The next day I was feeling much better and ordered breakfast in my room, which was lovely. I decided to go for a short walk around the hotel, after that it was time for movies. The next day I decided to go out for a bit so I went to Gurney Plaza, a huge air-conditioned shopping complex. It was amazing; there was so much to buy! While there I found a place that did a Pedi and Mani cure for under 10 pounds, so this was a must, they even gave a foot and hand massage. The rest of my time in Penang as spend relaxing, sightseeing and eating. The eating was not part of the plan, but the food there is so great and it’s so cheap. Beautiful Holidays advised me on what not to do after surgery so I did take it easy, which is hard I a place where there is so much to see and do. I was never in any pain, though there was some discomfort the first few days, which I expected. The first week it was difficult for me to walk up strait, I was slouching a bit and it was most comfortable to sit or lie on my side. The surgeon gave me some exercises that I could do and they helped me a lot.

I cannot recommend their service highly enough, and they made my stay in Malaysia an enjoyable one and have kept in touch with me since my return home to ensure my ongoing recovery was going smoothly. The surgery has definitely given me the confidence I was lacking and I am happy to have gone ahead with it. The scar is starting to fade and I hope it will keep doing this.

I am pleased to tell you how happy I am with the fantastic results of my surgery and still cannot stop looking at my beautiful new body - all thanks to the Beautiful holidays team and Dr Danny. My family and friends have told me I look better and happier, they are amazed by the results and some of them consider going themselves. If later on in life I feel the need for any more cosmetic surgery I would definitely return to Malaysia!

In August last year I went out to Penang, Malaysia through Beautiful Holidays. I was going for a Breast Augmentation under GA with a 1-night hospital stay in a single room. For 2 weeks I was in the Paradise Sandy Bay Hotel. (Translated from Dutch to English)

When you are reading this story you most probably want to go for plastic surgery. I made that decision 4 years ago and did not do anything with it till August 2003 when I decided to look for the options. I am a 25-year-old professional from Holland and have wanted fuller breasts for the past 4 years. My first choice was to look for a clinic in Holland. I went to see 2 clinics and found them rather un-personal and business oriented. I went to broaden my horizon on the Internet and found a clinic in Turkey, which provides the surgery but not the flights, accommodation and the full package. Then I came across Beautiful Holidays.

After studying the site I became interested and filled in the online application form. It was important for me that they take care of everything, the holiday, transport in Penang and all consultations. My English is good but I am not familiar with medical terms, they arranged even a translator for me, which was great. After a few days I got a price and this also sounded promising. The offered me to have a free telephone consultation with the Surgeon, which I did. This convinced me to go ahead with it and I booked to go for 18 days and have a breast augmentation. Beautiful Holidays guaranteed to me that at any time when I did not feel comfortable with going ahead with the surgery in Penang I could back out and only pay for the holiday, this set my mind at ease. I did not know what to expect from the Clinic, I saw the pictures but this could all be marketing. One of the reasons why I wanted to go with Beautiful Holidays also is that I did not want to tell any of my friend or family that I was doing this; I wanted it to be my decision. I just told everybody I was going on a holidays to Penang and they would see it when I came back.

I arrived in Penang on a Sunday morning and was picked up from the airport and brought to my hotel. There was an information pack in my hotel with all the ins and outs of Penang and my itinerary for during my stay. I spent Sunday and Monday working on my tan and getting to know Penang. Tuesday morning I was picked up to go to the Clinic for my intake consultation with the Surgeon. The Clinic, which is a fully functional hospital with even an ER, put my mind at ease, it looked clean and the people were friendly and all spoke English. During the Intake with the Surgeon we decided to go for 300 CC implants that will give me a full C cup/ small D cup. He told me all the possible risks and explained the procedure to me. After the intake I was taken back to the Hotel to relax before the surgery on Wednesday. On the day of the surgery I was a little nervous. I was admitted to the Clinic at 8 and at 10 in the morning I had the surgery. All went well and by 12.30 I was back in my room with a huge bandage around my chest. I felt terrible; I did not have any pain but was really ill from the Anesthetics. The whole time the nurses, who were very friendly, came to check on me. The next morning I woke up and felt much better, I had a good breakfast and the Beautiful Holidays staff send me flowers. The Surgeon came to see me and removed the drains, did a check up and told me again what I can and can’t do. After that I was released from the hospital and they picked me up to go back to the Hotel.

The next 2 days I relaxed in my room and got used to my new breast. The Hotel was great; they changed my towels and bed sheets on a regular basis for hygiene. I had to wear a sports bra 24 hours a day and was not allowed to shower under my arms for the scars to heal properly. After 2 days I had a check up with the Surgeon again. Everything was going great and he advised me again on what I was able to do and what not.

I can tell you, if you are planning to go on a diet while you are in Penang forget it, the food is amazing here. Everyday I could do more, I went to see two temples, did loads of shopping and after 8 days I was allowed to go in the pool for quick dips, as long as I washed off and dried of my scars afterwards. I went for a massage that was a true delight and the prices are even more attractive, only half of what I would pay in Holland. At the end of my stay I had a final check up with the Surgeon. He said all was looking good and gave me some cream for the scars under my arms, which helps reduce the scars. Beautiful holidays assured me that when I came back and would have more questions for the surgeon I can always email them and they will get all the answers for me.

My whole experience has been great. I think the best thing was that while I was recovering from the surgery I was really only doing the recovering and relaxing. If I would have had the surgery in Holland I would have still had to clean my house, cook my food and speak to friends and family. The staff of Beautiful Holidays is great; they invited me for a dinner and called me from time to time to see how I was doing and if I needed anything. When I flew home I felt a little nervous about the reaction of my family but they all loved the result.

I did not want to come back and look like Pamela Anderson, I wanted to have breasts that fitted my posture and that I felt comfortable with. I can say for anybody that is considering plastic surgery, have a look at this option. The service is great and the Surgeon really takes his time for you during all consultations. If any of you have questions Beautiful holidays has got my email address and I will answer them as well as I can.

April this year I went to Penang with Beautiful Holidays to have a male breast reduction and Lasik. I stayed in the Lone Pine for 9 nights and 1 night I stayed in the Hospital. My surgery as under LA on the second day and Lasik was in my second week.

Being a guy there is still a taboo on cosmetic surgery. First all people think you are gay and second everybody says you don’t need it, just because you are a man. I didn’t want to have the surgery in my own country, it was too uncomfortable. I am a single straight guy and the reaction I got from my surroundings, after telling them I wanted to go for surgery, were not encouraging. On the Internet I first researched the procedure I wanted and for the Lasik I found out you need to know if you qualify first. This I could do, as having something done about your eyes was okay. I found out I qualified for the Lasik eye treatment that day so I went back to the Internet. After some research I found 4 possible, 2 in Thailand and 2 in Malaysia so I decided to get a quote from all 4 companies/hospitals.

The cheapest was one in Thailand but the did not offer Lasik so I would have to find my own way for this wile in Thailand and I didn’t want to do this. One I started to think about it I did want to have my surgery in a place I could combine with a holiday as I might as well make the most out of a 12 hour flight. One option in Malaysia was too expensive and in KL, which meant one more trip before I was at a beach. Beautiful Holidays was in Penang on the beach and the price was certainly interesting. What surprised me is that in the proposal they reminded me that not everybody qualified for Lasik and that it would be wise for me to get it checked at home before coming out to Penang, none of the others mentioned this. All the arrangement were made and I would fly to Penang in 6 weeks time.

On arrival in Penang Wim was there to pick me up. I must say that it was rather comforting having a man there. Wim gave me an information pack that included a schedule for the next few days that also explained what I could and couldn’t do. Next day was the big day. Didn’t expect it but I was rather nervous all the way up to the consultation. The Doc was great; he calmed my nerves and explained the procedure to me in detail and after seeing before and after pics I was even more at rest. I didn’t see any before or after pics on the website so did not know what to expect very well. They told me their feeling was that these pics are misleading, as you will never look like the person on the picture, as everybody was different. That was okay for me and I went into the waiting area after the consultation. Wim stayed to chat to me and the nurse gave me some pills to calm me. After 20 minutes I started to be a bit drowsy and the nurse took me next door to the operation room. After that I do not remember much. I saw some green, orange and yellow lights but that’s as much as I can remember. Next thing was that I was in my room in the hospital. The hospital stay was comfortable although I was in a bit of pain. This was quickly relieved with some painkillers.

The next day was much more comfortable, as I was back in my hotel room. For the first day and nights I just relaxed and slept a lot. They had a fantastic room service menu so I didn’t have to go out. After staying in my hotel room for 2 days I figured it was time to get out and about. The hotel is in the tourist area of Penang so there is a lot to do but I just went for a walk in the garden and on the beach. At night I sat at the quiet beach bar a lot and went to some great restaurants. Basically I turned the whole holiday into a lazy one and only saw one temple, but its what I felt like.

In my second week I went for my Lasik treatment. It was comforting to see that the staff of this clinic also seemed to know Wim well. After 10 minutes in the waiting room I was called in for my consultation. The Doctor went through the test results with me. I had sent these to Beautiful Holidays before arrival so the Doctor knew my case. After the procedure Wim took me back to the hotel and made sure I was well installed. I had sort of frog like plastic bulbs on my eyes so my vision was not great. They had given me a sleeping pill, which I took after 2 hours. The next morning it was time for my check up. That day I left the clinic without my glasses and it felt great. My eyes stayed sensitive for a few days but I could see perfectly without my glasses!

During one of my check ups I asked Wim if Dental care was much cheaper here, he told me the prices of some basic treatments and I couldn’t believe it. It’s at least 1/3 of the price here if not ¼ as compared to Europe. At home I am not insured for dental so I decided to have a clean and a check up, the dentist was skilled and his practice looked good, he had good looking equipment and it could have been any dentist in Europe.

Once back home it was great, everybody said that my holiday must have done me well as I looked so good. My eyes are no longer sensitive and my chest is flat, I feel great. Lots of my friends and people from my social circle do not know I had surgery, which I prefer. Of course they knew about the Lasik as I was now without my glasses. Here in Europe you see lots of horror stories about surgery abroad, but they definitely do not come from Beautiful Holidays! One of my friends asked me “ how could you have gone abroad for something as sensitive as your eyes?” From Beautiful Holidays I knew the machine used is imported from Bausch & Lomb and that they perform over 30 Lasik procedures each month. I cant say more then that I was impressed with Beautiful Holidays and their service. Drop me a line if you have any questions for me.

In January this year I had a lower face-lift, eye bag removal and fat injections in my upper lip. I stayed in Penang for 2 weeks and stayed in the Paradise Sandy Bay for the first week and E&O for the second. My surgery as under LA and I was in hospital for 2 nights.

2003 has been a tough year for me and I decided to make 2004 my year. I am 51 and my face has been bothering me for a long time. Till surgery I felt I was too young for a facelift and dreaded the word. One of my friends went to Penang trough Beautiful Holidays and the results were great. These initiated the idea of getting a quote from them and see how much such procedures would set me back. When I got the quote they asked me for a picture, as they said that it would be useful to see if the surgeon agreed to the procedure I had selected. With nothing to lose I got my daughter to email a picture to them. The next day I got a quote and Marloes explained to me the surgeon thought I would not need a full face-lift; as my forehead was rather wrinkle free.

After going trough the quote and emailing back and forth with Marloes, I made the decision to go ahead with surgery. I emailed some questions to them asking what currency to bring for everyday expenses and things like that and they always responded swiftly with clear answers. In the quote it said the room was for 2 so I asked one of my friends to come along with me. As she only had to pay for the flight she jumped at the chance.

Once on my way to Malaysia I got a bit nervous, but on arrival I saw Marloes and I felt better. On the way to the hotel I asked lots of questions and Marloes answered them all. I got some information on how to prepare for surgery the next day. Marloes would pick me up and take me for the consultation followed by surgery if I was happy with the consult. It lasted about an hour and the Doctor told me what I could expect from the result and how the procedure took place. My friend stayed with me during consultation, which was comforting.

After the consult it all went rather quick. There were some forms for me to sign and I got some pills. Marloes left once I was taken into the room and she promised to see me after surgery. I can say that I don’t remember much of what happened after that, next thing I was in a hospital room while a nurse took my blood pressure. At night Marloes came and she brought along my friend. Once I was released from the hospital Tony took me back to the hotel. I had seen in magazines like Hello of stars wearing big hats when leaving the clinic, so I had brought my own big hat. Though I think the hat got more attention then my face. Tony joked to drop me off at the horse races, as my hat looked more in place there.

My hotel room had a balcony so for the first few days I sat in the shadow on my balcony reading my book. In the morning I had walk on the beach and in the evening we would go to Torch for dinner. The Doctor told me after my first check up that all looked good and that the results were good. I still could not see past the bruising, which got a bit depressing, so I had to take his word for it.

After some days I really felt like going out and seeing things. We were transferred to the E&O and I instantly felt like wearing my hat again, what a gorgeous hotel, and so glamorous! The last week we just relaxed and indulged in the luxurious hotel. After my last check up I was more comfortable with the outcome of surgery as most of the bruises and swelling had faded.

My holiday was amazing, the results are fantastic and I have not looked or felt better for a long time. The only downside would be the long travel but its worth everything in the end, I wish I had done it 3 years earlier!

In September this year I went to Penang with Beautiful Holidays to have a chin lift, breast augmentation & lift and a lower abdomen and waist liposuction under LA. I stayed at the Paradise Sandy Bay Hotel for nearly three weeks, which was perfect for rest, recuperation and fabulous service.

My decision to do this was prompted by a television series I had seen; ‘Sun, Sea and Silicone’, which followed a group of women who had breast surgery in Penang through Beautiful Holidays. Witnessing their candid and positive experience on British TV combined with support and encouragement from my husband, my decision was sealed. We compared Beautiful Holidays to a number of providers of cosmetic surgery in other countries on the internet and found Beautiful Holidays to be price competitive and most attractive in terms of location for rest and recovery. Wim was the main email contact and very responsive to our email queries which gave us reassurance that we were indeed dealing with a professional outfit who knew what they were doing. Wim was superb at replying to our questions on every aspect from how to measure your cup size, what a chin lift really involves to recommending accommodation and what to take. After finalising accommodation and surgery dates, I set off for my Beautiful Holiday albeit slightly nervous about what I was undertaking.

Wim met me at the airport and drove me to the hotel, appropriately named Paradise, and ensured I was safely in my room before leaving me with a pack of valuable information on Penang to read through. The next day Marloes collected me, the owner of the company and Wim’s daughter, and took me to my first consultation with Dr Danny.

Dr Danny was older (and possibly wiser) than I had expected and his natural inner calm immediately reassured me that I was in safe hands. He explained the procedure, answered my questions and encouraged me to consider having additional liposuction to my waist, as he believed he would get a good result, which I hadn’t previously considered. I looked at photos of other patients, discussed the procedure a little more and eventually opted for the additional liposuction and a 350 cc size, which I have no regrets about at all. I had the next day to myself and the nerves started to set in but I was determined, felt very brave and couldn’t wait to get it over with.

The following day Marloes took me to the clinic, attached to the Hospital, where I filled out forms and went through to be prepared for surgery. It had been over 20 years since I had had an operation of any kind and my nervousness was heightened due to this. I was in surgery for more than four hours and towards the end of it I ‘woke up’ which I have to confess was my worst nightmare. The reason for this was because I had the maximum amount of local anaesthetic – six times more than normal – which due to additional adrenalin and my well developed (and regularly exercised) liver literally washed through my system quicker than most people. This, I was told, is not normal and quite unexpected but there was no reason to worry medically. I did experience pain and discomfort and could feel things (and at times see things) happen. The good news was that I could communicate and Dr Danny and his nurse knew my situation and they talked to me and helped me through the last of it. Afterwards I was wheeled to my hospital room where Marloes met me and I slept as much as possible before being discharged the next day when Wim took me back to the hotel.

The next few days felt strange for me to be in my body and thank fully I had painkillers. I had a very tight midriff, massive boobs, plasters and padding on different parts of me and a neck I couldn’t easily stretch. I focussed on healing and slept as much as possible in between making myself eat and drink as much water as possible.

It was then that I really appreciated where I was staying as the view of the sea helped me relax. I couldn’t imagine a better place to recover and knew that if I was at home I would be feeling as though I had to ‘do’ things around the house. Part of the decision to have surgery in Penang was based on where best to recover and I firmly believe that the wonderful environment helped me truly rest and relax, which in turn aided my healing process. The room service and care from the staff was wonderful and as I was on my own this really made a difference.

I made a couple of friends who worked at Paradise Sandy Bay Hotel and after the first few days following surgery decided to pamper myself at the hotel’s beauty salon. I didn’t feel up to venturing out much on my own and the staff at the salon were incredibly friendly, able to speak fluent English and the price list was in my range. Three days after surgery I was lured out to join a group for a sumptuous diner buffet at the elegant Eastern and Oriental Hotel, which was a real treat.

I specifically decided not to do too much sight seeing, as I wanted to save it for when my husband joined me. I spent the following week focusing on rest and recovery and started to see improvements relatively quickly. The bruising changed colour, the swelling went down and my flexibility increased. I read 7 books, watched 8 movies and hardly wandered from the hotel at all apart from strolls on the beach and chauffeured trips to Dr Danny for check ups.

My husband arrived 11 days after surgery and when I met him at the airport he didn’t recognise me at first. He and I spent our week together exploring Penang in a gentle fashion as he too needed to have a break and a bit of well deserved R&R. We visited Ferringhi Beach night markets situated just down the road from Paradise Sandy Bay Hotel and dined at a wonderful Italian restaurant along the beach strip one night. Another evening we took the advice of a local tour operator and made our way to a very small, modest seafood restaurant just past Ferringhi Beach where we enjoyed sumptuous prawns, lobster and squid. We went shopping in Georgetown twice and went to the top of the Komtar Tower, which had a great view of the bridge to the mainland. My husband and I also went night clubbing in Georgetown at the famous Soho Bar with its great music and dynamic atmosphere.

While there was so much on offer to see and do in Penang, from butterfly farms to scuba diving, I found lying on sun loungers reading and snoozing by the beach and pool hard to leave and went for many warm dips in the sea instead.

It’s now 11 weeks after surgery and I look back on this experience with mixed emotion but mostly satisfaction. I can only sing the praises of Marloes and Wim at Beautiful Holidays, Dr Danny and his team as well as the staff at Paradise Sandy Bay Hotel. I am pleased that I had the surgery and I am starting to feel more and more comfortable with the results as each day goes by. Sometimes I forget I ever had surgery and the trip to Penang was just a dream – the results are simply incredible and the look totally natural. I look at my ‘before’ shots and internally squirm disbelieving I really looked like that. I’m delighted that I now have the figure I’ve always wanted - and so is my husband. Thank you Marloes, Wim and Dr Danny – I am truly very lucky to have been in such safe and competent hands.

In December 2004 I went to Penang with Beautiful Holidays to have a full facial rejuvenation under LA, which was my early Christmas present to myself. I stayed at the E&O Hotel for 1 week and at the Parkroyal Hotel for 2 weeks, which was fantastic balance.

In September this year I was flying Malaysian Airlines on my trip from Australia to Europe and as I was bored zapping through TV programs when I came across a travel program featuring Beautiful Holidays. For the last two years I had been thinking about doing something in regards to my face, but never had the time off work to do anything about it. After seeing this program I made up my mind and would make some “me” time to do this. When I came back in Australia I went to see a surgeon who I read about in a magazine. He was very pleasant and professional and we came to the conclusion that I needed a full face lift, eye bag removal, filler and dermabrasion around my mouth. Once we started talking about the recovery period I was told that it would take 2 to 3 weeks for the most visible outer signs to disappear, this made me think. I could not stay in my house for that long and hide, people would notice and I did not want people to know that I was having surgery. So I looked up Beautiful Holidays on the Internet and made an application. The price was certainly more attractive and it meant I could stay in a 5 star Hotel. After talking to Wim for some time via email I decided to go for 3 weeks so I would not have to worry about going back. A month later I was on my way to Penang! I was being excited, restless, nervous, anxious and looking forward to it all at the same time, it was quit an experience.

When I arrived at the Airport Marloes was waiting for me and we set of to the E&O hotel. The ride was comforting as Marloes had a lot to say about what could be expected of the surgery, the healing process and all that Penang has to offer. When I was installed in my room by Marloes, I decided to go for a short walk and relax as the next day would be my consultation and my surgery. The next morning I was a bit nervous but Marloes was there to calm me and talk me through it. It was strange for me that the surgery and consultation would be on the same day, but Marloes told me that many clients preferred this as it was better to get it over with so you can start your holiday and it would give me longer to heal. The consultation was the same as with the surgeon I had seen in Australia, though a bit longer and more detailed, and I felt confident that the Doctor would do a good job on me. After the consultation the nurses, Doreen and Carol who are 2 lovely ladies, took me to prepare for surgery which involved getting some medication to make me drowsy. After surgery I woke up in the room next to the operation theatre with Doreen next to me. She let me sleep a little longer and then took me to my hospital room where I would stay the next 2 days. To be honest I do not remember anything from the surgery, only the beginning where I was given the IV and the next thing is when I woke up in the small recovery room.

Once I was back in my hospital room Marloes came to see me with some flowers and that was a lovely surprise. I did not have to stay in the hospital but as it is not expensive to do so, and you have nurses on hand to bring you fresh icepacks for your face and help you with food and drinks, I opted for 2 nights as advised to me by Wim. I did not feel any pain till the next morning, which is when the LA must have started to wear off. When I asked the nurse for painkiller she gave them to me and I survived the first 2 days on about 3 painkillers a day, which I was told is not a lot. Marloes and Wim came in a few times to see how I was doing and have a chat, which was a nice distraction. The most pain was around my lower face and around my mouth where I had the dermabrasion. The Doctor had told me not to look in the mirror until my bandages came off, but being a woman I did, “I can now agree with not looking in the mirror the first few days”!

On Wednesday Wim came to take me to go back to the Hotel which I was looking forward to very much at that point. The Hotel had installed a DVD player and I had decided I was going to do nothing but watch movies, sleep and read for the next few days. During my stay the first few days, when I looked like a mix between a badly beaten up alien and an Easter egg, I must say that I was impressed with the Hotel staff as they did not once blink an eye at me and only politely asked if my healing was going well. In the first week I had 2 check ups and the Doctor was happy with the results and the healing. Every time there was a check up Wim or Marloes would pick me up and take me, they even made time to have a drink or chat with me. Since being back from the Hospital I did not have any pain, only some slight discomfort which was mostly when I woke up from sleeping, about which the Doctor said I must have moved around a lot during the night. During this first week I did go out a few times but nothing much as I just felt like staying in and relaxing. My favorites were reading my book by the pool in the late afternoon or going for breakfast and taking my time reading the papers.

The last 2 weeks I spend in the Parkroyal Hotel in Batu Ferringhi which was a beautiful resort with lots of activity. Being more comfortable with my face, which improved visibly by the day, I started to explore Penang. There was never a moment where I felt alone or bored. Taking my time and doing a bit more everyday suited me fine, and I started to enjoy the afternoon naps that I had gotten used to in the first week which would have to stop as soon I got back home to work (sigh).

Before I went to Penang I expected a good surgeon, hospital and good service from Beautiful Holidays. After my experience I must say that it was so much more then I had expected! At this point I can still not think about a single negative thing during my whole experience. Maybe the only thing was looking like an Easter egg for the first few days, though this got better and better all the time. Penang is everything I expected it to be and more. The Hospital was great and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Both of the hotels are simply beautiful and a perfect place to recover. Doctor Danny and his nurses were professional, pleasant and caring. Marloes and Wim are fantastic and they ensured my stay was a great one. All in all I can say that I am a very satisfied customer and can recommend anybody who is considering this option to go for it.

As for the results of my surgery I am over the moon. I look better then I ever did and could not have been happier with my new young face. Mostly I get compliments from people who knew me before and though nobody knew what I was going to do I am sure some people suspect it. The change is great but I still look like me, just a younger and fresher me. Beautiful Holidays has my emails address and if you are considering going you can ask them and I will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
